Thrive with Mentoring, a global non-profit mentoring initiative where women help each other succeed, has been awarded EMCC Global’s highest endorsement of organisational performance as part of a triple accreditation of its work.
The EMCC Global International Standards in Coaching and Mentoring Programmes (ISMCP) accreditation is a consistent and globally accepted framework of good practice in mentoring and coaching programme management.
Thrive with Mentoring has not only achieved ISMCP accreditation; the team has also demonstrated they are working to the very highest Gold level of attainment, with five out of six domains assessed scored at 100%.
ISMCP, awarded at bronze, silver or gold level, is a deep framework that supports cultural development and aligns personal and professional performance. It is a mark of an organisation’s ability to define and articulate its clarity of purpose, to establish and support a strong coach and mentor network, to build effective reviews and measurements, and to have an ability for consistent and improving performance – all aligned within a strong Global Code of Ethics.
In addition, the team has also secured an EMCC Global Quality Award (EQA) for its training – as a consequence, all its trained mentors will be able to secure their own EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA).
Thrive with Mentoring was established in Zurich in 2017 with a vision for a world where every woman lives an abundant life aligned with her values, gifts and joys, and a mission to accelerate a woman’s transition from making a living to living her most powerful life.
It is a global community of mentors and mentees across 10 countries, which has at the time of writing catalysed 1400 one-on-one mentoring relationships. Thrive with Mentoring uses online and in-person mechanisms to match mentors and mentees based on the strengths of the mentor and the needs of the mentee.
Thrive with Mentoring Founder and Chief Enthusiasm Officer Shivangi Walke said: “Our community expressed a need to have #evaluation, #practice and #feedback to ensure continuous growth as a #mentor. So the EMCC Global accreditation, and more importantly, the training qualification that we’ll be able to offer is going to be a real value-add to the Thrive community.”
EMCC Global ISMCP verifier and workstream lead Dr Julie Haddock-Millar said: “Thrive with Mentoring’s programme is a wonderful example of the power of mentoring in supporting women to develop, grow and thrive. The passion and commitment of the core team and the alignment of their values to their vision were evident from this assessment process. The structured mentoring is aimed at transformational impact and the mentoring journeys are supported to hone the skills of mentors and mentees.”
The ISMCP and EQA application was led by Shivangi Walke with programme manager Petronella Lockhart and operations lead Asha Saha.
The EQA is awarded to training programmes that can demonstrate that learning is in line with EMCC Global’s own stringent competency framework; in turn, EMCC Global can be confident that graduates of an EQA programme have completed learning to globally bench-marked standards and can apply for their own EIA.
EMCC Global Vice President for Accreditation Denise Whitworth said: “Thrive with Mentoring has a clear vision and a passionately implemented strategy to get there. It’s clear that the team continued to make a significant impact and should be thoroughly congratulated on their work. Accreditation is a reflection of their focused determination.”
